Remember a while ago when I didn't eat processed foods for 20 days? (Actually, I doubt it. I'm not that memorable). Well, I'm doing it again this week, to a degree. I'm going to allow myself to eat cheese, premixed salad-dressings (provided they don't contain preservatives or violate the other rules), etc. I don't know. I've been feeling kind of off, like my system need something. So here we go again! I think I'll post this on my new blog too.
EDIT
I don't have time to cook right now... so I'm going to have to cancel. I'm inconveniencing everyone right now, so I'll have to cancel for the time being. I'll try again at a point when I have time to work, and I might occasionally do a day or two... here or there.

And I'm back
Due mainly to peer pressure, I'm sticking with this account. I've been insanely busy with homework and such, and I think I'll try to keep up another blog too, but I'll use this as well.
I don't really have much to say right now. School's killing my poor little creative neurons. Can't wait until winter break.
If you live in Canada, and are interested in journalism, check this out. I don't know about countries other than Canada, but this is a neat opportunity of all you eco-activists out there.
Over and out.

Okay. I rethought the dropping the blog thing.
When I saw this. Thanks for posting this Nadiya. I would have gone unaware otherwise. (I really should read the news paper more often).
Its a petition against a really harsh bill against homosexuality in Uganda. Go sign it! Please! To me, love is love, no matter what. (And the world needs more love.) Down with death penalties! (I don't like the idea of death penalties- more on that later).
Well. I have to go.
Goodnight.
UPDATE-23/05/2011 8:57 PM- The bill was stopped. Thanks to everyone who supported the petition.

Sugar
Okay, now this is just mean! Why? Why?
Now I can’t have sugar!? What kind of a world is this? And, apparently I have to be careful about maple syrup too! I honestly can’t eat anything these days!
*Wail*. I think I’m going to have to make an exception for this, because
1) I can’t be that strict. I mean, I’ve already given up anything containing gelatin. I also gave up chewing gum. Soon, all I’d be able to eat would be celery!
2) I don’t have time to process my own sugar! I try my best to use as many unprossesed ingredients as I can (eg. making my own bread, making my own lemonade, making my own pasta, making my own freaking vegetable stock), but I simply cannot make my own sugar.
3) My parents would kill me if I told them there was something else I couldn’t eat.
So, at least for now, I’m sorry to all the cattle everywhere. And the environment that was damaged to feed and care for the cattle. If I can find vegetarian sugar, I’ll buy it. And I’ll work on the maple syrup thing.
See ya,
P.S. I found a vegetarian marshmallow recipe! Yes! (By the way, for those who don’t know,
marshmallows contain gelatin, which is derived from animals. I haven’t had marshmallows in ages. Some of the stuff in gum is also animal derived, thus, no gum.)
Now, all that remains is for me to make the recipe. I really hope it works, because I had to go to a specialty foods store to find one of the ingredients (agar agar, which is Japanese, and derived from seaweed).

This Cannot Be Natural
I've got school tomorrow, so this isn't going to be a long post.
Its April. In Canada. At Night. And I'm wearing spaghetti straps. It should not be this warm. Not even close this weather I usually don't see until late May. Either this is a fluke or we're finally starting to see the effects of climate change. I mean, it was snowing not one week ago. And now I'm wearing summer clothing!?
Call me delusional (I'm sure you wouldn't be the first), but is a sign of global warming not extreme variations in weather? (I might be wrong, I'm not an expert or anything.)
Thats about it, so goodnight!

Japan
I haven't posted for approximately an eternity. Sorry. I meant to post this a while ago, but do to my dysfunctional brain, I forgot *head desk*:
Can this get any worse? Actaully. Forget I said that. Let’s not jinx it, since they’ve got quite enough to be going on with as it is.
A list of stuff going on in Japan:
1) Earthquake= destruction
2) Tsunami caused by earthquake causes even more destruction.
3) Eartquake and/or tsunami damages nuclear reactors= Very Bad.
a) When I last heard, there was a partial meltdown in at least one reactor, into which they are pumping sea water in attempt to cool it and prevent a full meltdown (think Chernobyl).
b) Evacuation from the areas surrounding the reactors.
c) Sending crews in to try to fix the darn thing, but when last I read, they had pulled out do to the sight of smoke
d) Now they’re talking about a risk of food and water contamination from nuclear fall-out.
4) The death toll, when last I read, was over 18000.
If anyone’s got any updated information, comment!
To say it nicely, this is pretty darn bad.
Has anyone else noticed there’s been a lot of seismic activity? Haiti, Iceland and now Japan. Hmm…
